After leaving college I became a CAD Kitchen Designer and fitter for 4 years, later returning to study. BA Hons as a mature student in Graphic Design at the Croydon School of Art. Post graduation, at the same institution I became a print technician and simultaneously volounteered for the role of assistant Curator of the Parfitt Gallery 2013. Hanging artwork, fitting installations as well as co-ordinating and marketing the end of year shows.

Showing a natural ability to manipulate and apply layout in real environments as well as co-ordinate, craft and construct, I went from print technician and assistant curator to Croydon School of Arts in-house designer, and then, Head Curator for their Parfitt Gallery. It was there that I gained valuable experience in curation, hanging, setting up shows and managing people. I curated multiple shows in The Parfitt including the End of Year Shows, our stands at UCAS fairs and the D&AD.

Whilst establishing myself as a freelance designer/artist I found an opportunity for part-time employment in 2016 curating the Pure Evil Gallery, managing the day to day operations in the Shoreditch gallery, I now curate all three of the galleries. Working closely alongside Charlie aka Pure Evil I do all the photography, marketing for social media and run the (Shopify) website’s back end.
Throughout my time curating the Parfitt, my own shows and the Pure Evil Gallery, I having become extremely efficient in managing artwork and sales as well as logistics and secure packaging of all artworks. I became the galleries framer after being taught the process, framing to exceptional standards, mostly customised jobs not only framing the conventional print, but metal signs, canvases and perspex pieces.

It may be noted that among all, one of the greatest achievements from my time in curating is all the valuable contacts I have established and the relationships I have built. I am now familliar with numerous international artists, art collectors, printers, logistics companies, sponsors, galleries, laser cutters... the list goes on...

Good relationships are important and maintaining a good report even more so. I pride myself on my recommendations, the high standard of work I kept and the connections I have created and still keep.
